Johan Kers is CEO and Cofounder of Birch Biosciences. He has over a decade of experience at leading synthetic biology companies, where he led the development of novel biotechnologies to engineer and manufacture proteins for agricultural, therapeutic, and industrial applications. Johan founded Birch Biosciences in 2021 to address the circularity challenges in plastic recycling, developing enzymes that enable low-temperature, high-efficiency recycling of PET packaging and polyester textiles.
